Salary Range $96,000 - $125,000*

Role Summary: 

You are a highly motivated energy manager who successfully develops and implements energy procurement strategies focused on energy conservation and decarbonization. You are skilled at negotiating energy supply across a large portfolio of facilities, driving procurement efficiencies and cost-reduction. This cross-functional role will partner closely with Facilities, Legal and Store Ops and Finance and will be the subject matter expert on energy trends, regulatory requirements, market changes and renewable energy procurement. This role will also support the development of non-financial climate-related reporting and targets across Saks Global.

Key Qualifications: 

Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in energy procurement, renewable energy contracting, or a related area

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing energy contracts within deregulated markets

  • Familiarity with energy markets, utility tariffs, and regulatory frameworks

  • Experience managing demand response programs and evaluating decarbonization opportunities

  • Strong data management experience

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves)

  • Master’s degree in related field

  • Experience with energy modeling and/or certified energy manager (CEM) qualifications

  • Proven experience in carbon accounting and emissions reduction strategies for retail sector

  • Knowledge of energy storage, microgrids, and distributed energy resources, HVAC systems, and building automation

  • systems

  • Experience working on corporate sustainability teams


 

Role Description: 

  • Lead Saks Global’s energy procurement for both conventional and renewable energy (Power Purchase Agreements,

  • Renewable Energy Certificates, etc.) across large retail store and fulfilment center (FC) portfolio

  • Negotiate favorable energy supply and rates with 3rd party

  • Manage contracts in partnership with Legal, Procurement and Facilities

  • Analyze and model energy consumption data to forecast annual consumption, and identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities

  • Manage demand response projects to optimize participation and maximize cost savings

  • Monitor energy markets, regulatory changes, and emerging trends to inform procurement strategies

  • Perform periodic on-site energy audits to optimize building performance and track trends within building automation systems

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to develop and implement strategies for decarbonization, including investments in renewable energy projects and other sustainability initiatives

  • Manage energy benchmarking reporting requirements across FCs and Stores

  • Provide periodic reports and insights on energy cost trends, procurement performance, and sustainability impacts to senior leadership

  • Support the development of ESG reporting metrics related to energy procurement and consumption.

  • Work closely with utilities, suppliers, and third-party energy providers to optimize procurement strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability commitments.
