Become a pivotal member of our Finance team, where you’ll play a role in scaling our processes, maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization. As a Senior Accountant, you'll report to the Controller and lead various accounting functions that are critical to our success.
What you’ll do:
Become a pivotal member of our Finance team, where you’ll play a role in scaling our processes, maintaining the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization. As a Senior Accountant, you'll report to the Group Controller and lead various accounting functions that are critical to our success. Your responsibilities will include:
- Payroll, Accounts Receivable (AR) and Other Duties: Execute day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Global Consolidation Management: Review intercompany billings from subsidiaries and manage the global consolidation process including understanding subsidiary balances, recording and reconciling intercompany transactions, post elimination entries and uploading subsidiary trial balances.
- Revenue Accounting: Manage the Order to Cash process encompassing billing, payment processing, reconciliations, system implementations and integrations, reporting and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
- Support the US Company’s Tax Compliance: Perform tasks such as registering new states, compiling tax data, remitting and reconciling payments, responding to notices and coordinating with external tax professionals to meet governmental deadlines.
- Month-end Close Procedures: Support the overall month-end close process including independently preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis in meeting the month-end close schedule.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with different departments (e.g. Member Experience, Product, and Data) to support business initiative changes.
- Process Improvements: Participate in improving the accounting policies, internal controls and procedures, ensuring scalability, standardization and operational efficiencies.
- Ad-Hoc Assignments: Be prepared to take on other duties or ad-hoc assignments as required, such as implementing new accounting systems and tools.
What you bring:
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, and ideally working in a high growth SaaS technology business.
- Hands-on experience in revenue accounting and/or consolidating entities.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, internal controls, financial analysis and reporting.
- A problem-solver that thrives in a fast-paced and results-driven environment, and enjoys optimizing processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, allowing you to identify errors and interpret complex financial data.
- The ability to work autonomously and able to work cross-functionally and drive accounting led projects.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to break down technical concepts for non-finance teams.
- Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
Extra points if you have:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or candidate, or equivalent certification.
- Prior experience in tax and/or foreign exchange accounting.
- Experience working with Netsuite, Recurly, Stripe, Paypal and Gusto.
- Participating in system implementation or upgrades.
