Leads efforts focused on achievement of organization-wide goals through product, program, market engagement - strategic planning, relationship management, reporting, data and/or special projects as assigned. Initiatives may include new products or business partnerships to grow revenue and achieve sustainability beyond traditional sources as well as identification of market and business segment engagement and/or other programs to address market needs in the most cost-effective manner. Leverages industry experience and expertise to promote enterprise understanding of the key areas where the company is seeking to create competitive differentiation and establish sustainable advantage in the marketplace.Business and Strategic Planning
Proactively identify, evaluate and implement product, program, market engagement and/or marketing communications strategies to meet BCBSNC’s growth objectives.
Build and facilitate repeatable and company-focused strategic planning processes that include confirmation of continued relevance, progress evaluation and communication to affected stakeholders.
Lead the creation of the organization’s strategic plan, focused business and long-term growth plan objectives and enterprise goals.
Leverages customer and consumer insights to develop holistic and innovative strategies, programs and plans that effectively drive business outcomes and maximize ROI (segmentation, product design, communication preferences, messaging strategy and measurement plans/learnings).
Lead critical activities including complex financial/qualitative analysis and thought leadership at an enterprise level.
Lead the coordination, planning and facilitation of various divisional and organization-wide events (i.e. All Hands Meetings, Leadership Planning Sessions, staff meetings) to make them more effective, purposeful and outcomes based.
Facilitate communication and present information to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including senior and executive level leadership, to effectively drive programs/initiatives.
Lead the identification of strategic partners provide innovative and market differentiating capabilities and participate in the assessment, selection, and contract negotiation of these partners/vendors as needed.
Develop proofs of concept, business cases, market engagement and communications strategies and plans, detailed design and/or business requirements for assigned strategic initiatives.
Independently manage complex projects and cross-functional teams working on significant business strategies and opportunities. Manage the overall workforce plan and staffing models, taking into account multiple and interrelated initiatives to either increase or decrease headcount, each with their own set of success criteria/outcomes, budget, and duration.
Produce relevant business plans and analysis under guidance from Vice President for special projects and other duties as assigned.
Facilitate the creation and adoption of standard operating procedures and processes for the department and assist with the communication and education of new SOPs outside of the department.
Provide input and recommended strategy for leadership’s public speaking engagements and/or industry Board or committee meetings.
Facilitate change management work to support business and process improvements and overall departmental/divisional effectiveness.
Coaches/mentors more junior staff and may oversee work of other staff members as needed to facilitate execution of assigned strategic initiatives.
Manage tracking of initiatives/projects for the division and independently create presentations of initiative/project progress for varied audiences, which may include ELT and Senior Leadership.
Data Analysis/Reporting
Coordinate divisional budget analysis, provide input into and monitor budget forecasts and review progress against administrative cost reduction goals
Hiring Requirements
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
8+ years of experience in related field (10+ preferred).
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of relevant experience in related field (15+ preferred).
