Job Description

Commercial/Contract Management for the Middle East Corridor

Initial 12 month contract with a view to extend

Role and Responsibilities:

The Commercial Management team exists to grow the Firm’s ability to build long term commercially resilient and profitable relationships with clients. This is achieved by leveraging our in-depth understanding of major clients bid processes and providing advice on positioning fees, tender responses, sometimes facilitating negotiations and working with client procurement teams.

The role will operate across Commercial Management with a focus on supporting opportunities and engagements specifically across the Middle East Corridor.

Key activities to lead on:

This role will form part of the Commercial Management Hub and will provide support to the Commercial Management Sector Leads. The candidate will be required to have broad commercial expertise covering multiple industry sectors specifically Public Sector, Consumer and FS. This is a unique role in that there will be a requirement to manage key stakeholders both within the UK firm but also with KPMG member firms across the Middle East corridor. In addition, there will be a requirement to support the negotiation of engagements not only with those member firms, but also directly with clients. Strong expertise is required around commercial models and constructs but also contracting drafting and change control procedures. A level of understanding and demonstrable experience of working and negotiating in the middle east and negotiating in the geography are essential candidate attributes. Travel to the region will be a requirement on a regular basis.

The candidate will work alongside the Commercial Leadership team. They will assist them in providing the appropriate MEC related communications in areas such as commercial impact, new initiatives, growth and profitability.

The individual will from time to time also be expected to undertake ad hoc other leadership responsibilities as part of the wider Commercial Management team activities

Building relationships with key stakeholders, both in the UK firm but also in the Middle East, will be a key activity and the ability to confidently influence at all levels in different geographies will be key to the success of this role.

The candidate will be required to:

  • “Bring to life” the agreed contracts and schedules, in complex KPMG client engagements, to ensure commercial and contractual obligations are understood and effectively managed by the KPMG engagement teams.
  • Escalate and implement corrective actions where necessary when engagements unduly deviate and fall short of the expected returns or expose KPMG to heightened commercial / contractual risk
  • In a timely manner, liaise with clients on their commercial and contractual matters and implications throughout an engagement, keeping them pro-actively informed of progress, evolving benefits, risks etc and managing their expectations.
  • Provide KPI’s to Commercial Management leadership on client activities, actions and value created


Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate experience with a proven track record in a FTSE 100- 350 or equivalent sized enterprise, operating within the Middle East.
