The KinderCare Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team is responsible for providing executive leadership with an accurate and comprehensive analysis, at an enterprise-level, of the financial status and earnings outlook in order to drive business decisions and actions.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Pacific Time Zone (PT) that will work collaboratively with the finance and accounting teams at KinderCare in preparing the consolidated company budget and forecast, as well as provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of results and forecasted trends for leadership presentations. Additionally, they will deliver accurate reporting and analysis of monthly results for Board of Director presentations, assist Financial Reporting and Investor Relations teams in all external, publicly filed information, and assist in developing the consolidated long-range plan, including balance sheet, cash flow modeling and forecasting earnings projections.

The ideal candidate is proficient in financial concepts, systems & tools, able to self-validate work to ensure accuracy, demonstrates the ability to up level work product for leadership meetings, possesses eagerness and curiosity to understand trends that drive financial performance and is able to connect the dots and draw important conclusions. Individuals need to be able to seek out and incorporate feedback, self-prioritize work, call out priority conflicts and recommend solutions with manager and team members.

The role will have exposure across the broader finance organization as well as finance and company leadership, crafting opportunity for comprehensive understanding of KinderCare’s business and career growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in a dynamic environment to provide clear and concise data-driven insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
  • Provide tactical support for enterprise consolidation of the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Complete various financial models to assist with budgeting, forecasting, earnings projections, and periodic reporting and analysis of results.
  • Conduct analysis and modeling of near-term and long-term results for scenario planning of the P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and critical thinking to tackle problems and make recommendations based on self-directed work efforts.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position with a medium to large sized multi-unit company.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in developing planning models and consolidating budgets/forecasts, including capital planning, profit and loss statements, financial projections, and balance sheet management.
  • Meticulous with a dedication to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial planning concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate optimally with team members and partners at all levels, both within and outside the department.
  • Consistent track record of analyzing sophisticated financial information, identifying potential problems, and developing viable alternatives.
  • Sophisticated skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint required.
