(Senior) Product Owner (m/f/d) - API & Platform

Job Description

As a (Senior) Product Owner (m/f/d) for API & Platform, you will work closely with our engineering teams and take responsibility for the further development of our technical platform components (e.g., Single Sign-On) and our API landscape. You will act as the bridge between technology, business, and customers.

Your tasks

• Define and prioritize requirements for our API and platform components in close collaboration with engineering, architecture, and other stakeholders
• Drive the API strategy and ensure an excellent integration experience for both external and internal stakeholders
• Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive API documentation that enables successful integration by partners and internal teams
• Own the backlog for your product teams and develop a clear roadmap together with your product manager.
• Translate customer needs and technical requirements into clear user stories and specific acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with internal and external users to validate requirements and continuously gather feedback on API and platform features
• Optimize our internal processes and bring in best practices from API & Platform Product Management.
• Ensure compliance with high security and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, and UX to drive technical innovation and scalability
  
  

Your profile

• Several years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in a B2B SaaS environment, ideally focusing on APIs, developer platforms, or integrations
• Understanding of API technologies (REST, OAuth, Webhooks, OpenAPI etc.)
• Experience working with software engineering teams and a solid technical foundation
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architectures is a plus
• Agile mindset: You are familiar with Scrum, Kanban, and CI/CD processes and successfully implement them in teams
• Strong communication skills: You can clearly explain technical topics and effectively manage stakeholders
• Structured approach: Ability to work in a structured way within a complex stakeholder environment
• Ownership mentality: You think entrepreneurially, take responsibility, and contribute to the product strategy
• Experience creating and interpreting technical diagrams including API workflows, system architecture diagrams, and process flowcharts
• Fluency in both English and German
