Job description

Why Glassdoor?

When you work for Glassdoor, you help people everywhere get ahead in work and life. That’s because we’re moving fast to become the leading community for workplace conversations. Every day, we foster radical transparency by giving professionals a platform to connect authentically and anonymously. Think real talk with real people — plus company reviews and ratings, salary info, job listings and more.

Join us as we make worklife better, together.

About the Role:

As a Director, Product Management (Community) you’ll help define and scale a product that brings meaningful connection and utility to professionals—not just in their job search, but across their entire work life. This is a rare opportunity to shape how millions of professionals support one another through candid conversation—sharing experiences, offering advice, and navigating the evolving world of work together.

As the most senior product leader for Glassdoor’s community experience, you’ll own the end-to-end journey across discussion forums, content creation, and engagement systems. You’ll also be responsible for the Fishbowl app (acquired by Glassdoor in 2022), which currently supports part of our community experience. Your focus will be on building intentional ecosystems that deepen interaction, engender a sense of inclusivity and belonging, foster high-quality contributions, and create sustained professional value.

We’re looking for a product leader who has already scaled social or community platforms—someone fluent in engagement loops, contributor psychology, and identity systems, and who brings both strategic clarity and product intuition.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Glassdoor’s community experience, including the Fishbowl app
  • Lead and mentor a team of PMs working on user-generated content, interaction design, and engagement loops
  • Design systems that increase meaningful user-to-user interaction, support, and shared utility
  • Build features and feedback loops—such as engagement ladders, recognition mechanics, and cohort strategies—that encourage deeper participation
  • Develop lightweight tooling that empowers contributors and informal community leaders to drive recurring value
  • Reinforce identity, trust, and belonging through social design and contributor recognition
  • Define and track key signals of community health (helpfulness, inclusiveness, sustained contribution) to inform ongoing development
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Growth, Trust & Safety, and Notifications to deliver engaging and safe user experiences
  • Communicate product strategy and priorities with clarity across executive and cross-functional teams
  • Partner with other Glassdoor product teams and external partners to bring community interactions to bear on other aspects of work life, such as compensation research and active job seeking.
What You’ll Bring:
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including managing other PMs
  • Track record of scaling social, UGC, or community products—ideally across mobile and web
  • Deep understanding of engagement systems, contributor psychology, and social mechanics
  • Experience designing tools or frameworks that support power users or community leaders
  • Ability to think systemically and translate insight into scalable product structures
  • Strong sense for quality and a clear approach to measuring and evolving community health
  • Empathy for professionals navigating work life—and a desire to help them thrive
  • Executive presence and clear communication skills
