The Content Licensing Manager is responsible for supporting the growth and success of Business Wire’s content licensing and distribution strategy to increase the reach and visibility of Business Wire client press releases. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and managing partnerships end-to-end while also rolling up sleeves to support operational work to ensure seamless execution of partnerships. As part of the Media Relations Team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of partners from outreach and deal negotiation to onboarding, performance tracking and technical delivery.
What You Will Do
Identify, prospect, and negotiate content distribution and licensing agreements with strategic partners, including digital platforms, syndicators, press agencies, and other media outlets.
Perform outbound outreach, develop proposals, and manage contract negotiations.
Manage a portfolio of key partners, ensuring that all deal terms are met and that partnerships are aligned with broader company objectives.
Oversee content delivery and ensure partners are onboarded successfully and supported throughout the partnership lifecycle.
Handle core day-to-day functions such as journalist vetting, invoice approvals, and issue resolution.
Serve as the point of contact for internal teams (legal, product, tech) to execute partnership agreements and troubleshoot any operational issues.
Identify opportunities to streamline how we manage partnerships, including documentation, processes, and internal handoffs.
Help modernize team workflows and adopt new tools that improve efficiency and transparency.
Track partner performance and deliverables using CRM and project management tools.
Provide regular updates to leadership on partner status, market opportunities, and operational effectiveness.
What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in business development, content licensing, media partnerships, or a related field.
Experience owning relationships from outreach to execution, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
Operational fluency — comfortable managing the details, not just the strategy.
Familiarity with CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and data analytics tools (Excel, Tableau)
A team mindset: happy to pitch in and collaborate on a small team
Process oriented with a desire to find new ways to modernize and scale a high-performing team.
What We Offer
The base salary range for this position is $110K to $120K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
