Participate in high complexity projects and provide expert consulting to client projects.
Leads and participates in medical equipment planning meetings throughout project design phases with clinical users, architects, engineers, and consultants to support the selection of appropriate medical equipment.
Attend on-site and remote virtual client planning meetings.
Collaborates on medical equipment requirements with clinical users, architects, engineers, and other consultants.
Develops rough order of magnitude estimated equipment costs for clinical spaces based on program information from architects.
Develops medical equipment lists and associated estimated costs within Planview projects.
Revises medical equipment lists and estimated costs as projects move from schematic design, design development, and construction documents through procurement and installation.
Provide value engineering recommendations without compromising patient care.
Understands medical equipment specifications for mechanical, electrical, data, and plumbing installation requirements.
Understands and works to meet project schedule timelines.
Conducts and documents surveys and inventories of existing equipment within healthcare facilities.
Coordinate existing-to-reuse equipment decision making and reuse strategies.
Conducts value cost analysis and comparative equipment studies to recommend the most cost and time effective equipment/systems.
Identifies and presents various equipment options and advantages/disadvantages to meet clinical needs.
Monitors and assess emerging healthcare technologies and information.
Schedules and coordinates vendor review meetings with client and associated design team members and gathers vendor site specific drawings.
Reviews submittal documents to ensure they are accurate and correct.
Coordinates with BIM team to ensure equipment placement drawings are accurate and works with internal team and design team to resolve drawing conflicts both through live discussion and Bluebeam coordination sessions to avoid costly construction delays.
Provides clear documentation of equipment changes to coordinators to update equipment lists.
Obtains equipment list sign-offs from end users the end of design development and construction document phases.
Responsible for posting submittals to Architects FTP sites on assigned due dates subsequent to review of documents for accuracy and completeness.
Works with vendors and internal resources to provide detailed specifications be used for bidding proposals.
Supports in Vendor RFP preparation and analysis for high complexity architecturally significant packages.
Coordinates with procurement on the reconciliation of purchase order information to equipment programmed within projects.
Primary responsibility for the response to RFI inquiries from design team, architect, contractor and client.
Performs pre-installation site walkthroughs with vendors and contractors to ensure site readiness to specifications.
Supervising installation works and commissioning of medical equipment.
Provides support and mentors to MEQ planner colleagues to develop their knowledge and skills.
Assists in training documentation and on-going training programs.
Team Lead will maintain 70% approximate target utilization on billable project workload.
Serves as Principal in Charge on Key Client Accounts for escalation of project issues for resolution.
Develop business strategies to expand the Healthcare practice.
Assists in preparation of project proposals and attends meetings as a project representative, working to establish positive client relationships.
Attendance at Industry conferences and networking events.
Travels to project sites to support responsibilities as needed.
Maintains current knowledge of emerging technology trends and develops relationships with vendors to remain current with latest technologies.
Participates in industry conferences and promote image of trusted advisor to clients.
Implements Continuous improvement activities to identify lessons learned and adjust process.
Subject Matter Expert in multiple areas of medical equipment planning.
Quality checks equipment lists for required and appropriate clinical equipment.
Conducts efficient and effective medical equipment review meetings with clinical users and architects.
Advanced knowledge of medical equipment and its’ application within healthcare facilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify coordination issues.
Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Document control / Information management.
Presentation skills.
Deeper understanding of architectural and structural drawings and model coordination.
Preferred University Degree, Diploma or Higher Education Qualification in Healthcare, Biomedical Engineering or other Clinical Fields.
Candidate has 10-20 years of experience in healthcare
Proven track record of leading, training and coaching teams
Highly organized, task driven, and able to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail is required, as are excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidate experienced in healthcare projects with demonstrated subject matter expertise in multiple areas of the medical equipment planning field.
Proven track record of acting as a portfolio manager and lead for healthcare system clients.
Expertise in Macro Planning (health system/ facility master plans) and Micro Planning (Departmental Development).
Able to provide guidance on planning and installation requirements for complex medical equipment systems.
