Mesa seeks a Substation Physical Engineer. Primarily responsibility will be to attend scoping site visits, provide scoping documentation, and teamwork solutions to scoping requests. Secondary responsibilities may include design and check of project deliverables, and attending site visits associated with substation design projects. Design tasks will include standard physical substation design deliverables - General Arrangements, Elevations and Sections, Control House Layouts, Grounding layouts, Conduit and Cable schedules, and Bill of Materials using AutoCAD.

Education/Experience:

A BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited University (required)
3 - 6 years of experience working in the power utility industry

Responsibilities:

Utilize MicroStation and AutoCAD to create assigned deliverables
Meet client’s schedule and budget requirements
Perform project scoping activities
Estimate project design efforts
Perform Substation Physical design with high degree of accuracy
Check and review other personnel work for accuracy and adherence to client and/or national standards
Willingness to travel (typically 1 day at a time, approximately once every two weeks) and work occasional overtime as needed

Location Requirements:

The selected candidate will be fully remote with a primary residency in North Carolina. Local office available in Fort Mill, if preferred.
