Job description

Job Overview:

Join our ELA and Social Studies Team! Cambium Assessment is a pioneer in statewide online assessments. We integrate cutting-edge technology with content expertise to develop standardized assessments for kindergarten through high school students. We are currently looking for a Senior Test Developer, with expertise in ELA and/or Social Studies content and test development, to join our ELA and Social Studies team. The Senior Test Developer will be a key member of the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use state item specifications to write effective items and develop stimuli for different projects

  • Drive group reviews and autonomously conduct senior reviews of items for different projects

  • Drive item development for the content area, including client interactions

  • Develop blueprints and item/passage pool development plans

  • Conduct senior reviews on test development materials such as fixed forms, item development plans, and blueprints

  • Run educator content review meetings, rubric validation meetings, range finding meetings, data review meetings, and standard setting meetings

  • Independently communicate with state clients

  • Manage content-focused team trainings and be a resource for ELA team staff

  • Provide feedback to ELA team staff

  • Additional responsibilities may include serving as a Team Lead for an internal team, an ELA Content Lead for a project, or an Item Development Manager for a project.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7-11 years of experience in ELA assessment or ELA assessment-related fields or a Master’s degree with 5-10 years of experience in ELA assessment or ELA assessment-related fields

  • Excellent knowledge of and experience with developing educational assessments

  • Data-based skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Skilled at collaboration

  • Required travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 6 weeks per year for 2-6 days at a time
