  • Experience in medical receptionist or administrative roles, preferably in healthcare. 
  • Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and medical office software. 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and professionalism with patients. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing, and patient registration.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced virtual setting. 
  • Technical proficiency with telephony, video conferencing, and virtual communication tools.

Core responsibilities:

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, including new, follow-up, and rescheduled visits. 
  • Coordinate provider availability to ensure efficient scheduling. Collect and verify patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance details. 
  • Confirm insurance coverage, eligibility, and financial responsibilities. Handle phone calls, emails, and online inquiries for scheduling, prescription refills, and general assistance. 
  • Support insurance verification, billing inquiries, and claim processing. Maintain and organize accurate electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
