Experience in Accounting & Construction: Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the roofing, construction, or contractor-based industries, with familiarity in insurance-funded project accounting a strong plus. Tech Proficiency: Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online and ADP Payroll required; comfortable managing digital workflows and cloud-based financial tools. Payroll & Job Costing Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll systems, commissions, subcontractor payments, 1099s, and job costing processes. Detail-Oriented & Confidential: High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive financial data and client information. Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly report financial performance and collaborate across teams. Self-Motivated & Deadline-Driven: Proactive, highly organized, and capable of operating independently while consistently meeting reporting and compliance deadlines.

Core responsibilities:

Payroll & Commission Management: Process bi-weekly payroll through ADP for employees and sales reps, ensuring accuracy; manage timely payments to subcontractors and file 1099s as needed; track commissions and ensure full, on-time payments to reps. Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Maintain, reconcile, and categorize all financial records in QuickBooks Online, including income, expenses, contractor payments, insurance reimbursements, and AR/AP. Financial Reporting: Produce accurate monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Reports; provide weekly financial updates to leadership. Budgeting & Compliance Support: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; coordinate with tax professionals or CPAs as needed; prepare 1099s and ensure documentation is audit-ready. Internal Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, sales reps, and company leadership to ensure job costing accuracy and alignment across departments; report financial concerns or inconsistencies proactively. Audit & Year-End Readiness: Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready financial records to support year-end filings, insurance documentation, and potential external audits.
