Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cognos Lead with very good hands-on experience in Cognos BI to design, develop, and optimize business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server, stored procedure-based reports, and debugging issues between source and report. Additionally, experience in Power BI and working with cloud data sources like Azure is a plus. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of Cognos BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models.

Develop and optimize Cognos reports with a strong focus on performance efficiency.

Work extensively with SQL Server and stored procedure-based reports.

Debug and collaborate with the ETL team to resolve issues between the data source and reports.

Work with Power BI for data visualization and reporting needs.

Develop and maintain Framework Manager models, Transformer cubes, and metadata layers.

Implement security and data governance best practices within Cognos.

Troubleshoot and resolve Cognos-related technical issues.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Stay updated with the latest Cognos features and best practices to enhance system capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

[X+] years of experience with IBM Cognos BI Suite, including Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Transformer.

Very good hands-on experience with Cognos BI.

Strong experience working with SQL Server and stored procedure-based reports.

Good experience in debugging and working with the ETL team to identify and resolve issues between the source and reports.

Hands-on experience in data modeling and ETL development.

Proven ability to optimize complex reports and queries for high performance.

Knowledge of Cognos administration, security, and deployment best practices.

Good experience in working with Power BI.

Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Nice to have knowledge of cloud data sources like Azure.

Experience integrating Cognos with other BI tools and data visualization platforms.

IBM Cognos certification is a plus.
