Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

This level one Portfolio project role will define and build a shared understanding of the journey while achieving our strategic objectives and delivering specific key business results to assist the Portfolio VP with their vision in collaboration with the Director of Product Transformation. The Portfolio Project Manager collaborates with leadership, stakeholders, and broader Portfolio of teams to define and build a shared understanding of: 1) Features/Epics/Priorities (and associated non-functional requirements); 2) Customer Journey Maps; 3) KPIS; and 4) User Stories and intersection of waterfall and agile projects. This leader will be accountable for the successful launch of the various products and sub projects within a project as well as continuous support and optimization through the entire product lifecycle with the various business stakeholders. This leader will also be accountable for implementing modern change management principles, taking the lead in bringing stakeholders along from the beginning.

The ideal candidate will have training and experience in Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.), Lean Product Management, Project Management and possess a strong understanding of the hospitality business. They should be customer obsessed and open to innovation. This leader will ensure her/his teams adhere to the consistent application of our shared design and code libraries to ensure efficient and scalable development.

This Portfolio Project Manager I is responsible for laying out the roadmap collaboratively with the Portfolio VP, Delivery team, Engineering teams, Property IT and collaborating in our Lean Product Management community of practice –including bi-weekly discussions, reading/actively listening to associated books, podcasts, articles, etc. And working with the entire PMO team on projects related to the Product(s) roadmaps.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Customer Empathy: Must possess deep passion and empathy for the customer experience and able to navigate the landscape internal customers using family style service
  • Prioritization and Purpose: Assists the Portfolio group’s product prioritization by regularly reviewing the roadmaps and crafted Epics as well as the business core priorities to ensure alignment with current business strategy and optimal customer support
  • Product Readiness: Helps define the readiness of a product and engineering group
  • Product Delivery: Is responsible for the timely delivery of functionality required for the area
  • Team Communication: Actively engages with team members to define, prioritize, and collaborate on the various needs of our customers.
  • Leadership/Stakeholder Communication: Provides frequent communication to leadership and stakeholders, elevating issues that impact budget, timeline, or strategic vision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in a digital product, design, or engineering role, IT project management preferably within an agile team
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO®)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrable portfolio of products and customer journeys in market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business priorities and
  • Technical experience within the Product Portfolio that the team member is assisting
  • Deep curiosity in emerging digital trends and ability to translate into friction-less customer experiences
  • Proactive and family style work ethic
  • Experience with Jira, Slack, Clarity, and Confluence a plus
