Position Overview
We are looking to hire a Sr. Transportation Coordinator to join our growing Transportation Team. This position will report to the Manager of Transportation. This role can be remote or based out of Roswell, GA. The position will help implement and refine processes, support system changes, and manage day-to-day domestic operations as we continue to grow.
What You'll Do
Provide company wide support for all facets of domestic transportation, including, but not limited to planning, reporting, and carrier management activities across multiple modes (Truckload, Less-than-Truckload, Intermodal, Parcel)
Investigate, resolve, and follow-up on Branch needs related to carrier performance and delivery
Work with Branches, Category, Buyers, and Sales regarding freight quotes and general transportation needs
Partner with internal and external resources to improve shipping processes and procedures
Identify and present opportunities to improve service levels and reduce costs
Run daily transportation reporting, monitor exceptions, and provide operational support
Compile actionable data and deliver presentations for periodic business reviews for stakeholders in the Field and within Field Support
Manage provider invoice payment process, monitor for exceptions, and support auditing
Assist in freight conversion for inbound suppliers
Support the evaluation, screening, and onboarding of new carriers and other related 3rd party providers
Assist with transportation bids
Lead projects and other initiatives, as assigned
Skills We Are Seeking
4-year degree from an accredited university, or equivalent industry experience
2+ years’ experience in transportation, supply chain, logistics, or similar role
Experience with SaaS based OMS and TMS solutions; experience with E2Open and/or Manhattan is a plus
Load planning experience a plus
A track record of providing superior customer service and exceeding expectations
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and reporting skills, with preferred experience using Excel
Experience in the green distribution, irrigation, nursery, or landscape industry is a plus
