About The Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Accounting Policy to join our Corporate Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting Policy. This is a remote position.

The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting & Accounting Policy is responsible for supporting internal and external reporting, ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of our financial reporting processes. This position will involve preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.

This individual will work closely with their manager to consolidate and report the Company’s results. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for the preparation and review of the disclosures included in the Company’s Quarterly and Annual Reports as well as assisting with internal monthly management reporting and reporting to government agencies.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

  • Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensure they are accurate and in accordance with accounting standards. This includes Quarterly and Annual Financials, internal reporting, other financial reporting as required, and other governmental statutory reporting.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in accounting standards and regulations, assist in assessment of their impact on the company, including providing guidance on adoption and implementation.
  • Assist with technical accounting research, accounting policies and documentation.
  • Support effective internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance) to safeguard the integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare accounting entries and account reconciliations as assigned, including those related to equity.
  • Participate in earnings release/lender call process including preparation of the quarterly management reporting package, preparation and analysis of financial information included in the earnings release and script.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation related to the group’s responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely submission of audit requests for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other teams to obtain support for financial reporting matters.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA license required.
  • Big 4 or national firm public accounting experience preferred.
  • 5+ years accounting or relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel / MS Office and with experience in Hyperion, Workiva or other SEC reporting solutions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably PeopleSoft.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Analytical, accurate, organized, and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing assignments with ease and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled in developing relationships across the Company to accomplish work goals, and ability to listen and share ideas amongst coworkers.
  • Highly motivated professional with strong initiative and work ethic.

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily.
  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote office location.

The starting salary for this position is $80,700 - $134,500 and may increase to $168,200 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Other compensation may include a 10% Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) bonus paid out according to policy. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
