As a Bid Manager you’ll provide expert support to the Pursuit Leads and wider growth team to ensure the timely and successful completion of proposals, bids, presentations and supporting collateral for retained business and new sales opportunities. You will be developing winning submissions that clearly demonstrate the AMS value proposition and win themes in line with the clients/prospect’s requirements and the evaluation/weighting criteria.


Reports to: Senior Bid Manager


Key Accountabilities:


  • Production of high-quality bid documents in written formats (RFI’s, RFP’s) that clearly articulate our value proposition and win themes
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative research to fully understand the client/prospect and their key supply/demand trends, development implications and future skill trajectories to inform our approach and evidence base
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Process (SOP) managing the bid process end-to-end, including facilitating kick-off, storyboarding, win themes and competitor mapping sessions as part of the process (where appropriate)
  • Act as brand ambassador ensuring all bid documents are delivered in accordance with corporate brand guidelines and tone of voice
  • Review and proof-read bid content to ensure all outputs are of the highest standard prior to following the internal ‘Quality Assurance’ process
  • Working in-conjunction with the Global Infrastructure team suggest content to form part of the Bid Library
  • Apply creativity to overcome problems and develop workable solutions that are relevant to the day-to-day Growth team environment
  • Attend pre-tender briefing sessions and post-tender debriefing sessions as required ensuring contact reports are written up and circulated
  • Ensure that all content relating to the bid is stored on the Knowledge Exchange and that new collateral developed is highlighted to the Bid Team Centre of Excellence for uploading to the Bid Library
  • Ensure a thorough post-bid ‘wash up’ session is conducted, and all lessons learned are reflected in our bid collateral and communicated to the Global Bid Director to form part of the quarterly trend analysis
  • Attend win/loss discovery sessions facilitated by the Global Bid Director on relevant opportunities
  • Maintain a strong market awareness and understanding of AMS’ competitive differentiation and value proposition
  • Respond effectively to stakeholder enquiries, requests and concerns.
  • Meet quality standards of service and ensure work is of the highest standard.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and apply a challenger mind-set where necessary.


Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Experience in bid management and development, project management and communications (5+ years)
  • Solid understanding of business and sales process/cycle and associated roles
  • Prior experience within RPO and/or Talent Acquisition
  • Understanding of resourcing and RPO market drivers,
  • Exceptional writing, editing and formatting skills
  • Proven ability to engage with numerous subject matter experts within the organisation to obtain necessary information
  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Strong personal time-management and prioritisation skills
  • Proven ability to work with individuals at all organisational levels
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Visio).


Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Bid Management APMP foundation level or higher or Project management (Prince2) qualification
  • Ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority
  • Multi-regional, global bid management experience including understanding cultural nuances
  • Understanding of blended workforce solutions and wider HRO, Consulting and Talent Management services and solutions.
