Job description

As a Dangerous Goods Transportation Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant transportation of hazardous materials globally. In this role, you'll be supporting the classification of dangerous goods, maintaining master data attributes in TMS and ERP systems, and identification & remediation of potential master data & process gaps.



Responsibilities

  • Supporting classification of hazardous materials according to regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations including IATA, ADR, DOT, IMDG, etc.
  • Updating and maintaining master data attributes in TMS and ERP systems, including DG classification, hazard class, and secondary logistics attributes.
  • Reviewing part descriptions to identify & remediate potential gaps in dangerous goods classification.
  • Leading initiatives to improve upstream part classification during the new product introduction process.
  • Supporting data governance initiatives and driving adherence of standard change management process to ensure proper notification and classification of items.
  • Working with regional & global DG experts to create and maintain global standard work.
  • Providing training, support, and guidance to internal teams on hazardous materials topics.
  • Supporting in DG KPI tracking, reporting, and analysis.
  • Responding to and managing incidents involving hazardous materials transportation.
  • Providing support in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
  • Working closely with logistics, supply chain, and EHS team to ensure compliance.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of global dangerous goods regulations including IATA, DOT, ADR, TDG, IMDG.
  • IATA certification.
  • Proficiency in TMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in global ground & ocean regulations (e.g. DOT, ADR, TDG, IMDG)
  • Experience in project management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with Benchmark Gensuite incident reporting tool.
