Job Summary

As a Principal Accountant you will be responsible for preparing CECL calculations, and providing support for SEC reporting efforts, all while adhering to US GAAP accounting standards and regulations. 

This is a remote position 

What you will contribute:

  • Prepare CECL calculation models, methodologies, and processes for various products and assets in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive support for SEC reporting including the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Independently prepare quarterly ACL analysis and recommendations, presenting them to the CECL committee for approval.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to assist in understanding ACL methodology, model assumptions, quarterly results, and ASC 326-20 (CECL application).
  • Identify and assess credit risks, develop action plans to address issues and provide strategic guidance.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including IT, risk management, and audit, to implement CECL changes and processes.
  • Present results and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders for review and challenge.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation of analytics and reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting
  • 5-7 years of experience, public accounting or public company experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, CECL accounting standards, and related regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis tools
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with financial systems, such as Oracle, Workday and Alteryx is highly preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

 

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
