Job description

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Compliance Officer to spearhead the compliance strategy and operations across the organization. This pivotal role entails the development and implementation of robust compliance frameworks that adhere to regulations while promoting ethical business practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with executive leadership to ensure that our compliance objectives are aligned with broader business strategies and will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the compliance program, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead compliance training and education initiatives across the organization, ensuring all employees are aware of compliance standards and policies.
  • Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues, working closely with other departments to mitigate potential compliance-related concerns.
  • Stay current on regulatory changes impacting the business and ensure timely updates to compliance policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and work with auditors to ensure compliance objectives are met.
  • Foster strong relationships with regulatory agencies and facilitate effective communication regarding compliance matters.
  • Drive the culture of compliance throughout the organization by actively promoting ethical behavior and compliance best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of compliance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong understanding of compliance laws and regulations relevant to the industry.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective compliance programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to analyze compliance issues and risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications in compliance, such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the financial services or fintech sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and foster relationships with regulators.
  • Fluency in an additional language is a plus.
