Job Description:

Our client is seeking an exceptional Compliance Officer to join their small but mighty compliance team. This is a fast-paced, detail-focused role ideal for someone who thrives on process, accuracy, and people interaction. You’ll be a vital link between recruitment consultants and candidates, ensuring all safeguarding and vetting processes are meticulously followed so that educators are cleared for work quickly and confidently.

You'll be talking to candidates and liaising with the UK team daily – so communication, multitasking, and adaptability are key. If you're friendly, hard-working, love ticking boxes (literally and figuratively), and can keep cool under pressure, then this could be your perfect match.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and manage the candidate vetting journey via an online self-registration system

  • Verify compliance documentation including DBS, Barred List, and reference checks in line with UK safeguarding legislation

  • Ensure all documents are accurate, formatted correctly, and securely stored (via SharePoint and integrated systems)

  • Use platforms like Yoti for online ID verification and prepare sign-off packs for final clearance

  • Act as the first point of contact for candidate and client queries on compliance, payroll, and general onboarding

  • Maintain real-time communication with consultants to report candidate progress and flag issues

  • Support with day-to-day vacancy fulfillment and liaise with external payroll providers

  • Uphold compliance standards in accordance with frameworks and internal audits

  • Assist with credit control and occasional debt chasing

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance processes

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in education recruitment compliance (healthcare compliance considered with strict auditing background)

  • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of accuracy

  • Comfortable using multiple tech systems and learning new platforms quickly

  • Confident communicator – both written and verbal – with a proactive, can-do attitude

  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Familiarity with safeguarding legislation and education vetting processes

  • Experience working in fast-paced, audited environments

Benefits
Benefits:
  • Remote role with a supportive, close-knit team

  • Flexible working hours (UK time zone) with respect for work-life balance

  • Work with a friendly, open-minded leadership team that values your voice

  • Opportunity to make a real impact in education and improve candidate experiences

  • R20 000-R25,000 salary

NB: Due to the high volume of applications, if you have not received a response from the Talent Acquisition team within 4 weeks, please consider your application unsuccessful.
