As an Interfaces Application Engineer at Altera, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for interconnect (PCIe, CXL), external memory interfaces (DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5), and/or high bandwidth memory (HBM) and provide solutions that allow our key customers to successfully meet market demands. Your specific role will have opportunity to, but not limited to the following:

  • Develop designs for next generation protocol and interconnect IPs, including PCIe Gen 3/4/5, CXL, DDR4, DDR5, LPDDR5, and HBM memory

  • Participate in interoperability testing and compliance for protocol IP use cases and demonstrate performance to customers

  • Create collateral including protocol IP user guides, reference designs, technology demonstrations, tools, and macros

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams for issue resolution and protocol validation, and provide feedback to engineering on protocol IP quality and customer experience

Qualifications:

What We Want to See

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field (documentation related to bachelor's degree completion will be required).

  • Advanced English.

  • 6+ months of experience in FPGA design and debug 

Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd

  • Masters’ degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related STEM field.

  • 1+ years of experience or relevant coursework in PCIe or DDR4/DDR5 memory interfaces

  • 1+ years of experience in customer support or customer facing role

  • 1+ years of experience in FPGA design and debug
