The starting base salary range for a Director - Sales Enablement is $107,000 to $175,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, internal tenure, and equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.
Director-Sales Enablement Overview
This position is responsible for driving the success of our sale teams by ensuring team members have the knowledge, skills and tools to drive sales goals and success. Responsible for developing the overall strategy and delivery of sales training programs. This position is highly cross-functional and acts as a liaison internally with Sales, Account Management, Product, Partner Management, Marketing, Operational, and Project Management teams, as well as externally with our Partners, to better enable the USAL and Partner sales teams.
Essential Duties:
- Creates the sales training strategy and executes training including development of materials, training plans and delivery of training.
- Through scheduled training sessions and other delivery mechanisms, continually drives and leads product training to keep the USAL sales force and Partner reps current on USAL products
- In partnership with Marketing and Training, develops solutions and builds out sales tools (web-based, job aids, videos and other training supplements) that provide key information the field needs to be successful in facilitating sales. Provides consistent training approaches, tools and delivery for usability and adoption benefits.
- Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on critical sales projects that require sales input. Shares project details and gathers feedback from USAL sales force and Partners to provide to project team including go to market approaches and sales strategy to be incorporated in project.
- Understand the distribution differences of Partners and work closely to ensure training materials developed are appropriate, properly branded, and suited to their marketing, product and distribution approaches.
- Oversee Highspot Sales Enablement platform. Ensure content is up to date, relevant, easily accessible and pertinent to the specific regional partners. Maintain access of appropriate users, provide coaching and mentorship, and assist users in the continued development of their own capabilities. Monitor and report user adoption results and continually look for ways to improve utilization. Create and execute a plan of expanded use of the platform targeting Partners and Brokers. Support approved expansion of the platform for additional functionality.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of and ability to implement sales methodologies and sales training concepts
- Detailed technical knowledge of dental, life, disability and supplemental products
- Familiarity with Medical products
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to present technical concepts
- Negotiation and persuasion skills with skill at influencing and shaping issues and desired outcomes
- Ability to influence, collaborate and interact effectively a senior leadership team and key stakeholders to provide sales training direction
- Ability to articulate and present technical concepts
- Ability to independently drive projects to completion
- Team player who can work cross-functionally at all levels internally and with Partners
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or related experience
- 7-10 years’ experience in sales, product or related field in the insurance industry
- Extensive knowledge of the industry, specialty or field of expertise
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree
- Prior sales or sales training experience in ancillary insurance
- Familiarity of USAL products, operations and partners. Familiarity with BC/BS companies.
