Preferred by Nature is seeking a US/Canada Forestry Regional Manager to lead our forestry certification services across the US and Canada. This is a high-impact role responsible for team leadership, audit oversight, and key account and stakeholder engagement.

What You Can Expect:

As the US/Canada Forestry Regional Manager you will:

• Manage and grow our forestry certification services in the US and Canada.

• Supervise and develop a high-performing team across the region.

• Lead complex forestry audits and oversee quality and technical delivery.

• Strengthen client relationships and key accounts while aligning service delivery with our sustainability mission.

• Collaborate with global teams to identify market opportunities and support the rollout of new services.

• Play an active role in shaping internal processes, systems, and policies.

Your First Year with Us:

At Preferred by Nature, we value continuous learning and career growth. Here’s what you can expect in your first year:

Within three months, you will:

• Complete onboarding and relevant internal systems training.

• Gain a clear understanding of Preferred by Nature’s services, mission, and regional structure.

• Build relationships with team members, clients, and key stakeholders.

• Familiarize yourself with forestry certification schemes (FM, CW/FM, SLIMF, CoC).

• Begin supporting audits, planning activities, and team coordination.

Within six months, you will:

• Independently manage and oversee forestry certification services in the U.S. and Canada.

• Lead coordination of audits and ensure consistent service quality.

• Begin conducting audits and technical reviews (if qualified).

• Support regional strategy implementation and business development efforts.

Within one year, you will:

• Fully lead the US/Canada forestry team and drive service delivery strategy.

• Support team development through coaching and performance feedback.

• Strengthen regional partnerships and represent Preferred by Nature externally.

• Contribute to internal improvements, training materials, and cross-team collaboration.

• Help expand our impact through strong stakeholder engagement and strategic growth.

Important that you:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Forest Products, or a related field.

• Have at least 7 years’ experience in the forest product industry or related sectors.

• Have extensive knowledge of FSC and auditing standards; ISO, FSC, and PEFC/SFI lead auditor credentials are a plus.

• Have experience managing complex supply chain clients and staff teams.

• Have strong organizational, stakeholder engagement, and client care skills.

• Are willing and able to travel up to 30% within North America.

Would also be great, but not necessary, if you:

• Have experience with project or grant management, particularly in the sustainability or conservation sector.

• Have experience supporting or leading remote teams across multiple regions.

• Are skilled in technical writing or creating training/educational content.

• Have proficiency in written and spoken French.

• Have participated in industry events or public speaking engagements.

• Are comfortable using Salesforce or similar CRM tools for managing contacts and workflows.
