AP4 Services, a division of AP4 Group, is seeking a Service Manager
AP4 Group LLC is a global full-service provider of heavy-duty & aeroderivative industrial gas turbine maintenance, including spare parts distribution, component repairs, and field services. What are your responsibilities?
The Service Manager is the primary point of contact for AP4 Services’ customers and the direct manager of a team of field service engineers.  This person is responsible for managing customer interactions from initial contact, selling/quoting service work, negotiating terms & conditions, planning job scope, and assigning & dispatching field engineers to perform the on-site work. 

The Service Manager is a leader within the AP4 organization who is accountable for AP4’s brand, who takes ownership of all customer interactions and work performed, and who acts with a sense of urgency to ensure our customers are getting the immediate attention and service they require. 

This is a 100% remote work position.  Applicant can be located anywhere in the continental United States.

What will you do?
  • Lead and manage a team of remote field engineers and field service contractors.
  • Assume ownership of all assigned customer interactions from initial contact through job closeout.
  • Develop proposals, cost estimates and project plans for controls, exciter, and static starter equipment at power plants.
  • Act with a sense of urgency when working with customers and internal teams.
  • Assign and dispatch field engineers to the awarded jobs and remain engaged with the customer’s on-site personnel to ensure the services performed meet expectations.
  • Manage multiple jobs at the same time with excellent organizational skills.
  • Compile and review field service reports, timesheets, and travel expenses to ensure job documentation is complete.
  • On occasion, work extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, to support field teams and customer emergencies.
  • Clear and concise communication with customers, field engineers, contract and administration personnel, finance department, and senior management.
  • Work with the internal finance team to generate customer invoices.
  • Report-out business financials to senior management.
  • Support internal process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage internal business unit budget
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies, products, and service methods.
  • Travel as needed to customer sites, industry conferences, and internal company meetings (up to 15% travel annually).
  • Promote AP4 safety policies and company culture.

What do you need to qualify for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in power generation industry.
  • Knowledge of gas and steam turbine systems, preferably turbine and generator controls systems from OEMs such as GE, Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Woodward, or Mitsubishi.
  • Experience leading remote teams.
  • Proven project management and customer service experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in MSOffice Suite
  • Willingness to learn new software and new skills
