About the role

Roar Apex is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer – Data & Analytics to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions that drive strategic decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data pipelines, develop advanced analytics capabilities, and ensure the integrity, security, and availability of data across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build dimensional data models using industry best practices to transform raw data into high-quality datasets.
• Architect new and maintain existing data extraction pipelines.
• Build engineering notebooks for writing to Delta tables.
• Execute data acquisition and loading of applicable data objects.
• Develop transformation logic within Microsoft Fabric Warehouse/Lakehouse.
• Create persistent dimensional model layers in Fabric Warehouse/Lakehouse.
• Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency of dimensional models.
• Build robust Power BI semantic layers to support advanced analytics.
• Develop high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to business needs.
• Apply an agile development mindset to deliver minimally viable products and achieve quick value realization.
• Collaborate with business and functional teams to identify data and systems that enable actionable insights.
• Define project goals, desired outcomes, and success metrics.
• Plan project timelines, budgets, and produce regular status reports.
• Identify long-term support models for ongoing maintenance of project deliverables.
• Establish and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for internal data and analytics support.
• Train stakeholders and users on Data & Analytics systems according to their roles.
• Enable business and functional SMEs to support key data models and dashboards.
• Coordinate ongoing support to ensure business needs are consistently met.
• Collaborate with software vendors to extract business data via file extracts or API integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. 
• 6+ years of information technology, data engineering, data visualization, data architecture, data science or similar experience.
• Proven experience with SQL, Python/PySpark, DAX, Microsoft Power BI, and Excel for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building business intelligence dashboards and reports (utilizing Data Warehouse, Data Modeling and Data Integration) to support business decisions. 
• 2+ years of hands-on experience architecting data pipelines, building relational databases and data models (including STAR schema); In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with Azure including provisioning, configuring, and developing solutions in Modern Data Estate (ADF, ADLS, SQL DW/Synapse, Databricks and Power BI).
• Strong comfort with, and demonstrated ability to learn, technology tools, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, real estate management system(s), customer relationship management platform (HubSpot), project management systems (Asana), communication systems (Slack), and HRIS (Paycom).
