Job Summary:

As the Accounting Manager, you'll oversee capitalization software accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial records and compliance with accounting standards, while also managing a team of one and contributing to the overall general ledger management. The Manager of Accounting will provide assistance and support in the coordination of the company’s financial accounting and reporting processes.

What you will contribute:

Capitalization Software Accounting

  • Software development capitalization tracking, recording and reconciliation according to company policy
  • Partner with other business units to provide support on software capitalization
  • Develop and maintain process documentation around capitalization
  • Partner with finance to understand software capitalization budgeting and forecasting
  • Perform the annual capitalized software impairment analysis
  • Review month end close journal entries and reconciliations
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed

General Ledger Management:

  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all transactions
  • Supervise and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a Sr Accountant, providing guidance and support
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback

Compliance and Procedures: · Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, etc.) and regulatory requirements

  • Performs tasks in accordance with the company’s internal controls and policies
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
  • Support internal and external audits

Other Duties:

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license, or equivalent, preferred
  • 5 years of experience, public accounting or public company experience preferable
  • Software company experience required
  • Capitalized software development accounting experience, preferred
  • 2-3 years at the senior level or equivalent experience preferred
  • 0-2 years relevant leadership experience preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with financial systems, such as Oracle or Workday
