Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve their real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software and solutions in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a Senior Customer Project Manager in the Pipeline and Portfolio Management team, you will be responsible for optimizing the Quote to Order lifecycle and managing the portfolio of customer-facing professional services projects. You will ensure efficient collaboration across sales, operations, and delivery teams, driving continuous process improvement and strategic alignment across all customer engagements. This role will focus on accelerating the Q2O process, in support of Sales, and Customer Excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Quote to Order (Q2O) Process: Adhere to the Q2O process for professional services, ensuring seamless alignment between sales, legal, finance, and delivery teams. Drive efficiency in quoting, order processing, and project initiation to meet customer and business needs.

Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of customer-facing professional services projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, resource allocation, and timely execution. Work with other project managers and leadership to track project performance, manage risk, and drive successful outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, operations, finance, legal, and delivery teams to ensure effective communication, clear expectations, and on-time delivery of services. Act as the bridge between pre-sales and post-sales activities.

Process Improvement & Standardization: Continuously evaluate and provide recommendations as to enhance the Q2O and project management processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and improve customer satisfaction.

Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to standardized procedures, policies, and frameworks for quoting, ordering, and portfolio management. Maintain high standards of quality and compliance across all stages of the customer engagement lifecycle.

Performance Reporting & Analytics: Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to professional services pipeline efficiency, portfolio health, and project delivery. Provide regular reports and analysis to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations for process and performance improvements.

Training & Enablement: Design and implement training programs for cross-functional teams, ensuring clear understanding and effective execution of Q2O processes and portfolio management practices.

Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues within the Q2O and portfolio/[ management processes. Work with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure smooth transitions from sales to service delivery.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations, providing project updates, and fostering strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term success.

Project Management: Lead special initiatives related to process improvement, tool implementation, or system integrations aimed at enhancing the Q2O process and portfolio/program management functions.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Required education and degree type: BS or MS, MSc in an engineering and/or business or related field

Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+8 MS+4 OR PHD+1

Experience working in engineering / product development environment

Proven experience in Program Management or complex project management with multiple workstreams

Proven executive stakeholder management skills
-
Proven expertise in managing Q2O processes, portfolio management, and cross-functional team leadership.

Strong understanding of professional services operations and project lifecycle management.

Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma).

Knowledge of tools such as CRM, ERP, and quoting/configuration systems

Exceptional organizational and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency

Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.

Projects a professional image, fosters teamwork, and demonstrates business acumen.

Strong leadership and mentoring skills

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Fluent writing and speaking English

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+10 M+8 PHD +5

7-10 years of experience in Program Management with an enterprise software and technology deployment focus

PMP, PgMP, or similar certification is a plus
