The purpose of this role is to bridge the gap between complex technology and user-friendly content. You will empower our users to navigate and leverage our SAAS products with confidence by crafting documentation that is informative, accessible, and easy to follow. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our Software as a Service (SAAS) solutions. Your work will help our clients and users effectively understand and utilize our products, contributing to a seamless user experience. This role will best fit to technologist with passion for documentation.

Location: Ireland / Remote

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and user experience designers, to gather information and understand product features and functionality.
• Create and maintain user guides, product manuals, technical documentation, API documentation, and other instructional materials that are easy to comprehend and navigate.
• Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly language, making our SAAS products accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Continuously update and improve existing documentation to reflect software updates, enhancements, and new features.
• Work closely with QA teams to ensure accuracy and validity of documentation through rigorous testing and review processes.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather information and insights necessary for accurate documentation.
• Assist in maintaining a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation, ensuring a unified brand experience for users.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and SAAS to enhance documentation quality and usability.
• Familiarity with tech build systems and integration processes, collaborating with development teams to document deployment procedures and configuration steps.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within a SAAS or technology company.
• Experience with any kind of static-site generator such as Jekyll, Sphinx, Hugo
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience any kind of static-site generator with emphasis is on separation of content from format to enable repeatable and scalable content generation that can be integrated with any build system
• Proficiency in working with documentation tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems and collaboration tools.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly content.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with graphic design and creating visual aids (e.g., diagrams, screenshots) is a plus.
• A portfolio showcasing your previous work and ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

• Experience with a static-site generator based around the AsciiDoc format (similar to Markdown)
• Experience with  static-site generator Antora
