About our Stack

    What You'll Do:

    • Drive the delivery of backend systems and data pipelines that power our visual experiences at scale, including APIs, microservices, ETL flows, and data warehousing infrastructure.
    • Manage and grow a team of talented backend and data engineers, focusing on mentorship, performance, and long-term career development.
    • Collaborate closely with product, data, and other engineering leads to align team initiatives with broader company priorities and ensure consistent execution.
    • Establish and evolve team processes and technical practices to support high-velocity, high-quality software development.
    • Partner with engineering leadership to define and deliver on the roadmap for backend services and data infrastructure.
    • Support your team in designing scalable, observable, and maintainable systems, while keeping an eye on tech debt, reliability, and developer experience.
    • Play a key role in hiring: evaluating candidates, onboarding new team members, and helping grow a diverse and inclusive engineering organization.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration, reinforcing company values, and modeling excellence and accountability across the team.

          We’re looking for someone with:

          • 2+ years of experience managing backend or infrastructure engineering teams.
          • 8+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, production-grade backend systems.
          • Experience owning mission-critical backend services, APIs, and/or data pipelines at scale.
          • Strong technical instincts, able to guide architecture decisions, make trade-offs, and drive clarity through ambiguity.
          • Proven track record of coaching and growing engineers at all levels, focusing on long-term growth and team health.
          • Solid communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
          • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and autonomy is expected.
          • Familiarity with our stack (Python, Django, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS) is a strong plus, but equivalent experience in similar environments is welcome.
