Unified Mammography Services (UMAMS), a subsidiary of Unified Women’s Healthcare, is a comprehensive solution for in-office Mammography services. We utilize top of the line equipment and expert staff with exceptional standards of care. Embedded within our network of affiliated OBGYN provider practices, this offers patients an intimate and familiar in-office environment, offering a convenient one stop solution for well-women visits and annual screening mammograms.
Reporting to the director of mammography operations, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating existing picture archiving and communication system (PACS) initiatives and will participate in new PACS and digital imaging initiatives.
Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day operation of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, and prefetching and other related activities.
Ensures all department and corporate guidelines are met.
Monitors the system daily for scheduled jobs, backup / archival software, and system program interfaces between PACS and RIS.
Notifies vendors of any problems and collaboratively resolves as needed.
Oversees user management by adding/changing/deleting users on PACS.
Monitors system performance to ensure quality controls are appropriately in place.
Develops and implements quality control programs to assure effective functioning of the system.
Monitors studies and patient information by reviewing mismatched folders, corrects mismatched studies by using other systems to obtain correct demographic information, and corrects studies that are received with errors or incomplete.
Provides user training to new users and refresher trainings as needed.
Participates in System Administration and quality control training provided by vendor when available.
Develops and maintains materials and records for user training.
Troubleshoots and problem solves when hardware, network, and / or software problems occur; works with appropriate vendor / department until resolved.
Develops and implements policies and procedures, in cooperation with IT, to assure that system monitoring and effective backup procedures are followed; develops and provides regular management reports on various functions of the PACS system.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems discipline required. Master’s degree in related field strongly preferred.
3+ years of related experience in information technology or healthcare operations.
Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
Proficiency in office automation systems required. Familiarity with specific radiology applications and Internet.
Preferred ARRT registered 3+ years of experience in PACS and radiology operation.
