Full Stack Engineer

HiCareer is hiring on behalf of our client, a fast-growing wellness tech company

We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join the product development team and help scale a mobile-first wellness platform used by hundreds of thousands globally. You’ll work across backend services and web features, collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers.

🏢 About the Company

Our client is a 70-person wellness tech startup helping users build better mental health habits through guided audio, journaling, and habit coaching. They’ve seen rapid growth across the EU and US and are now scaling both their product and engineering capacity.

The engineering team is 14 people, split across 3 cross-functional product squads. You’ll join one of these squads, working alongside 2–3 other engineers, a designer, and a PM. The company is remote-first, with optional coworking hubs currently in Berlin and Amsterdam.

🎯 Role Description & Responsibilities

As a Fullstack Engineer, you’ll build and maintain both backend APIs and frontend features — primarily focused on web and internal tools that support the mobile app experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building scalable backend services and APIs for both user-facing and internal features
• Developing frontend web interfaces for admin, content management, and landing pages
• Collaborating on architecture, design, and planning within your squad
• Writing clean, testable code and participating in code reviews
• Identifying performance bottlenecks and driving improvements
• Working closely with designers and product managers to ship polished, impactful features

You’ll be working with:

• Backend: Node.js (TypeScript), PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM
• Frontend: Next.js, React, TailwindCSS
• Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, ECS), Vercel (for frontend), Docker
• Tooling: GitHub Actions, Sentry, Postman, Notion, Slack, Linear

🙋‍♂️ Who We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience as a fullstack or backend-heavy engineer
• Strong in TypeScript and modern JS/TS frameworks
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with SQL databases
• Familiar with modern frontend frameworks (React or Next.js preferred)
• Comfortable working in a cross-functional team and taking ownership of features
• Bonus: experience in early-stage or consumer product companies
