Job Title: IT Operations & Security Manager
Location: Greater Toronto Area (Remote)
Reports To: Head of People and Employee Experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Operations & Security Manager to lead the infrastructure, compliance, and operational integrity of our growing enterprise software environment. This role is critical in ensuring seamless internal IT operations, robust data and security practices, and compliance with SOC 2 and other enterprise-level requirements.
You will work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, HR, finance, and client success teams to deliver and maintain best-in-class systems that support our security, scalability, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Asset Management
Manage the hardware lifecycle, including onboarding/offboarding, procurement, configuration, and decommissioning.
Oversee enterprise software access controls through a defined Software Access Matrix, ensuring access is aligned with role-based permissions.
Maintain an accurate and auditable inventory of IT assets and software licenses.
Enterprise Systems & Data Integration
Lead the selection, implementation, and administration of enterprise tools used for internal collaboration, data integration, reporting, and contract management.
Coordinate the secure integration and presentation of corporate and business data across departments.
IT Security & Compliance
Own and maintain SOC 2 Type II audit readiness, working closely with external auditors, internal stakeholders, and engineering teams.
Develop and enforce IT policies, data retention standards, and security protocols, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
Ensure secure data handling and privacy practices across all systems, in accordance with relevant laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA).
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
Maintain and test the company’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, ensuring minimal operational disruption during unexpected events.
Partner with leadership to implement redundancy and incident response strategies across systems and teams.
Training & Governance
Develop and deliver employee training on IT policies, data security, and system usage.
Act as an escalation point for IT-related incidents, risk assessment, and decision-making on technical operations and security matters.
Qualifications
5+ years in IT operations, infrastructure management, or security roles in enterprise SaaS or technology environments.
Deep knowledge of enterprise IT systems, asset management, and compliance frameworks (especially SOC 2).
Experience managing hardware/software onboarding at scale.
Familiarity with SaaS access management (e.g., Okta, Google Workspace, MDM tools).
Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a growing organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have: experience leading internal audits, implementing security awareness programs, or working with legal teams on enterprise contracts.
