Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and workflows.
  • Integrate and manage data from various sources, including third-party applications through RESTful APIs.
  • Transform and model data for analytics and reporting using modern tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Implement best practices for data engineering, including data quality, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Support and optimize data warehousing and data lake architectures.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
  • Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with RESTful API integrations.
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack and its components.
  • Orchestration tools: Preferably Airflow; alternatively Dagster or Prefect.
  • Data Warehousing/Lake: Preferably Snowflake; alternatively Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Data transformation/modeling: Preferably dbt; alternatively Coalesce.
  • Experience with data virtualization or query federation tools: Preferably Denodo; alternatively Trino or Starburst.
  • Familiarity with data streaming frameworks such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub
  • Full-time availability.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to have

  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
