Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer with a strong background in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and workflows.
Integrate and manage data from various sources, including third-party applications through RESTful APIs.
Transform and model data for analytics and reporting using modern tools and frameworks.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Implement best practices for data engineering, including data quality, monitoring, and documentation.
Support and optimize data warehousing and data lake architectures.

Requirements

4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience with RESTful API integrations.
Familiarity with the modern data stack and its components.
Orchestration tools: Preferably Airflow; alternatively Dagster or Prefect.
Data Warehousing/Lake: Preferably Snowflake; alternatively Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
Data transformation/modeling: Preferably dbt; alternatively Coalesce.
Experience with data virtualization or query federation tools: Preferably Denodo; alternatively Trino or Starburst.
Familiarity with data streaming frameworks such as Kafka or Azure Event Hub
Full-time availability.
Fluent in English.

Nice to have

Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server BI stack, including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
