Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location:
Remote (MST Time Zone)
Salary Range:
up to 950 USD

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (MST)

About the Company:

Sagan represents a small business owner operating two companies: a day home agency and a moving company. The businesses are fast-paced and service-driven, requiring detail-oriented operational support to maintain clean and accurate financial records across both entities.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to manage daily financial operations across two businesses. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in using QuickBooks Online. This role involves syncing data from CRMs, categorizing expenses, managing payroll processes, verifying educator pay, and supporting accurate financial reporting for tax and audit readiness. The candidate should be comfortable navigating between the two businesses and adaptable to evolving operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sync invoices from CRMs into QuickBooks and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Categorize and reconcile expenses, revenue, and payments received.
  • Assist with job closures and educator earnings calculations.
  • Draft and verify educator pay and respond to related payment inquiries.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding for payroll.
  • Calculate and distribute commissions, bonuses, and incentive payouts.
  • Prepare and maintain organized records for collaboration with external accountants.
  • Assist in auditing government funding received.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing across both businesses.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience managing a chart of accounts and processing payroll.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across two companies effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with CRMs (Smart Moving and Timesaver).
  • Experience working with small business owners or multi-entity environments.
  • Prior experience calculating commissions or variable compensation.
  • Background supporting government-funded programs.
