Job Description:

We are seeking a highly talented and experienced Director of AI/ML and AI Engineering to lead the delivery and scalability of Datasite’s generative AI tooling platform. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, adept people management, and exceptional project management skills to manage the delivery of end-to-end, cutting-edge solutions and AI tooling to transform our client’s M&A experience.

As a key leader, you will mentor and organize one or more teams of data scientists, engineers, researchers, and QA professionals, fostering strong product partnerships and ensuring the consistent, timely delivery of high-quality AI products. Your focus will be on aligning technical efforts with business goals, ensuring that AI/ML initiatives deliver measurable value. This initiative is a top priority for Datasite, requiring exceptional attention to detail, ownership, and seamless cross-team collaboration. Your contributions will shape the future of our AI platform and its impact on creating more efficient and effective M&A tooling.

Responsibilities:

Engaging Highly Talented Teams:

• Lead and mentor teams of data scientists. engineers, researchers, and QA professionals, cultivating growth, engagement, and a culture of accountability and ownership.

• Collaborate with teams to establish and manage clear project performance metrics and timelines.

• Build a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

• Provide consistent feedback and coaching to team members, fostering skill development and accountability to ensure the delivery of committed work and high-quality, reliable solutions

Platform Development and Delivery Excellence:

• Oversee the design, delivery, and scalability of Datasite’s generative AI tooling platform, ensuring it meets high-quality standards.

• Define success measures, best practices, and tooling that optimize delivery workflows for AI/ML products and services.

• Champion the adoption of cutting-edge AI/ML technologies to ensure competitive advantage and impactful innovation.

• Define and enforce AI/ML and engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality, maintainable infrastructure as code.

• Measure, track, and report on team and delivery performance to senior management, addressing risks and opportunities proactively.

Vision and Strategic Alignment:

• Lead, through example and direction,the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions.

• Collaborate with leadership and product teams to prioritize initiatives and ensure resources are aligned with Datasite objectives.

• Stay ahead of advancements in AI/ML technologies, incorporating relevant innovations into the team’s strategy and processes.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

• Partner closely with product management, infrastructure, MLOPs, and support teams to align technical strategies with business requirements.

• Ensure open and transparent communication across teams and leadership, fostering strong cross-functional partnerships.

• Coordinate multi-team efforts, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of complex solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; advanced degree and certifications (e.g., AI/ML, cloud) preferred.

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end complex, time-sensitive AI solutions, ideally involving LLMs, deap-learning models, agent-based systems, and/or RAG solutions.

• Strong understanding of AI/ML workflows, including data pipelines, model training, deployment, and monitoring (MLOps).

• Experience with the AI/ML frameworks, tools and technologies required to deliver moder GenAI solutions.

• Demonstrated expertise in solutions architecture, encompassing SDLC processes, security, high availability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, monitoring, and application design.

• Proficiency in general architecture, operations, and deployment methodologies, including cloud-based infrastructures and SDLC pipelines.

• 3+ years of proven leadership experience with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in dynamic environments.

• Working knowledge of emerging AI/ML tools and best practices, with experience integrating generative AI into scalable production systems.

• Understanding of ethical AI principles and commitment to responsible AI development.

• Strong communication skills with experience articulating technical solutions to stakeholders and aligning engineering goals with business objectives.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position.  Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
