Job description

Risk Strategies Consulting (RSC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical pharmacy specialist to join our consulting firm, providing deep clinical expertise to support our consultants and our clients.

This position is designed for a distinguished pharmacy professional with extensive clinical experience, deep specialization in therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiology, and/or specialty pharmacy, and a profound understanding of pharmacotherapy, including mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics. The ideal candidate will apply their advanced clinical knowledge to deliver strategic insights and innovative solutions that enhance pharmaceutical care and benefit design.

This role involves leading the development of sophisticated treatment protocols, managing highly complex cases, and spearheading cutting-edge research initiatives to support our clients’ strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be motivated, well-organized, and a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a top-tier clinical specialist with a focus on optimizing drug utilization and achieving superior patient outcomes in specialized therapeutic areas to enhance pharmaceutical care
  • Provides support horizontally across the firm for clinical pharmacy requests that require deep clinical specialization beyond the scope of the clinical pharmacists or pharmacy consultants, inclusive of in-depth clinical analyses, clinical research initiatives, etc.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of advanced treatment protocols and strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and the latest clinical evidence, including in-depth analysis of mechanisms of action, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics
  • Stays abreast of new drugs in the pipeline, emerging clinical protocols, and updated clinical guidelines to ensure consultants and clients are informed of the latest advancements and can integrate them into their pharmaceutical strategies
  • Spearheads clinical research initiatives, conducting thorough analyses to generate evidence-based recommendations and strategies that support client goals, incorporating a detailed understanding of drug interactions and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educates and advises on best practices, cutting-edge therapies, and advancements in pharmaceutical care, positioning them as leaders in the industry
  • Engage in business development activities, including crafting compelling proposals, delivering persuasive client presentations, and identifying new opportunities to expand consulting services.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of clinical pharmacy experience with a deep focus on one or more of the following areas: oncology, chronic inflammatory, bleeding disorders, specialty pharmacy
  • Demonstrated mastery in managing highly complex clinical cases and developing sophisticated treatment protocols, with a strong emphasis on understanding drug mechanisms of action and pharmacotherapy
  • Established track record of leading and publishing impactful clinical research
  • Client facing skills with the ability to articulate complex clinical information effectively
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with new drugs, clinical protocols, and guidelines
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic consulting environment

At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $147,700 - $225,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
