Job description

Remote in Hyderabad or Bangalore
THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite is a people-first organization. Our goal of building a global platform for live experiences relies on a foundation of top talent and a strong company culture. Our team is the face of Eventbrite, and we’re charged with finding, attracting, and bringing on the best of the best to drive Eventbrite’s growing business and award-winning culture forward. Hiring top talent globally is no easy feat, but we have a talented team with an inspiring story and mission. The ideal candidate is someone who can connect that vision and story with top-notch talent.

We foster a culture focused on passion, kindness, continuous learning, and feedback. We value collaboration, working in small teams to solve big problems. Our teams operate autonomously, with full ownership of their roadmaps and outcomes. Each team typically consists of front-end and back-end engineers, a product manager, a designer, and an engineering manager.

Mentorship and inclusion are central to our culture, and we are committed to learning new things every day. Pair programming, weekly demos, tech talks, and hackathons are core to how we build our team and product. We also actively engage with the tech community, hosting free events with top technical speakers and contributing to open-source software.

THE TEAM

Eventbrite's business continues to scale rapidly, powering millions of events. To empower event creators and attendees, we continuously build new tools and technologies that enhance live experiences. Our technology spans web, mobile, APIs, big data, machine learning, and physical point-of-sale and scanning systems.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in architecting solutions, solving complex technical challenges, and leading initiatives to enhance automation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and drive engineering excellence to create privacy-first solutions.

Team members participate in an on-call rotation to ensure issues are mitigated immediately and root causes are addressed.

THE ROLE
We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our development teams in Hyderabad or Bangalore. You will build scalable, robust, and secure platforms and user interfaces that people love to use. You will tackle challenging problems and contribute to Eventbrite Engineering’s culture of technical excellence, inclusivity, and mentorship. This is more than just an opportunity to join a fantastic team—it’s a chance to impact Eventbrite’s platform and organization at scale.
THE TECH STACK
Eventbrite is one of the world’s largest Django-powered sites by request volume. Our primary stack is Python/Django, NodeJS and Kotlin based microservices, running on the AWS platform. In addition to self-managed infrastructure like RabbitMQ and Kafka, we heavily rely on various AWS services such as Aurora, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, and many others. On the frontend, we extensively use React and Redux. We also leverage the HashiCorp toolset in our stack (Consul, Nomad, Vault, and Terraform).
THE SKILLSET
  • We’re looking for passionate Senior Software Engineers with expertise in both frontend and backend development. We appreciate versatile engineers who bring unique strengths to the team.
  • 4+ years of experience building scalable applications.
  • Strong programming skills with a focus on efficiency and practicality.
  • A track record of designing and producing reliable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Experience working on highly visible products with significant user impact.
  • Ability to make meaningful contributions to business outcomes.
  • Holistic approach to software quality.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams.
  • Proficiency in English
IDEAL SKILL SET
  • Technical Leadership & Problem-Solving – Ability to guide teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and design scalable architectures.
  • Full-Stack Expertise – Proficiency in frontend (React, JavaScript) and backend (Java, Python) development.
  • Cloud & DevOps Mastery – Hands-on experience with AWS components such as Lambda, SQS, ECS, API Gateway, etc.
  • Microservices & API Design – Experience building high-performance APIs and integrating third-party compliance solutions.
  • Database & Data Management – Expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases, data encryption, and governance best practices.
  • Agile & Sprint Execution – Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Ability to partner with Product and Business Teams to align technical solutions with business needs.

BONUS POINTS

  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
