Position Overview:

This is a high-impact opportunity for a detail-oriented, strategic, and proactive Senior Accountant. You will lead the accounting function, implement process improvements, and ensure the company's financial health. You'll manage payroll, and bookkeeping (until a bookkeeper is hired), and play a critical role in M&A activity, including due diligence and Quality of Earnings reports. The ideal candidate is confident in suggesting best practices and can operate independently while contributing at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple entities.
Manage general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely financial reports.
Conduct payroll, accounts payable, and receivable functions.
Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts in collaboration with leadership.
Ensure tax compliance and prepare relevant filings (sales tax, payroll tax, corporate tax).
Hire and manage a bookkeeper; initially handle bookkeeping until that hire is in place.
Present financial insights and process improvement recommendations to the leadership team.
Support M&A due diligence, including preparation of Quality of Earnings reports.
Coordinate with auditors and external advisors during acquisitions and compliance efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or leadership role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting standards.
Proven ability to work independently and proactively suggest best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience conducting M&A due diligence.
Ability to prepare Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports.
Experience hiring and managing junior accounting staff.
Familiarity with small business operations and remote team collaboration.
