Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CST)

Position Overview:

This is a high-impact opportunity for a detail-oriented, strategic, and proactive Senior Accountant. You will lead the accounting function, implement process improvements, and ensure the company's financial health. You'll manage payroll, and bookkeeping (until a bookkeeper is hired), and play a critical role in M&A activity, including due diligence and Quality of Earnings reports. The ideal candidate is confident in suggesting best practices and can operate independently while contributing at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for multiple entities.
  • Manage general ledger, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely financial reports.
  • Conduct payroll, accounts payable, and receivable functions.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts in collaboration with leadership.
  • Ensure tax compliance and prepare relevant filings (sales tax, payroll tax, corporate tax).
  • Hire and manage a bookkeeper; initially handle bookkeeping until that hire is in place.
  • Present financial insights and process improvement recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Support M&A due diligence, including preparation of Quality of Earnings reports.
  • Coordinate with auditors and external advisors during acquisitions and compliance efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively suggest best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience conducting M&A due diligence.
  • Ability to prepare Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports.
  • Experience hiring and managing junior accounting staff.
  • Familiarity with small business operations and remote team collaboration.
