Responsibilities and more:
Ensure the proper management, quality, security, and regulatory compliance of data in Solvo's Data Lake by implementing Data Governance policies in Azure. This role ensures traceability, accessibility, and data protection, aligning processes with regulatory standards and optimizing data usage for strategic decision-making.
Functions:
Design, execute, and document data governance policies and models (security, quality, retention, data access, and operational procedures) to ensure reliability and compliance with data management regulations.
Implement and manage Azure Purview for data traceability and cataloging to ensure visibility and control over data lineage.
Monitor and improve data quality using validation rules and metrics to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and reliable for analysis.
Establish access controls in Azure Data Lakes to prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive information.
Coordinate with IT and business teams to define metadata standards and data classification to align governance with organizational objectives.
Audit and monitor the use of Azure technologies with Monitor and Log Analytics to ensure compliance and detect anomalies in data usage.
Support cost optimization in Azure to improve efficiency in Data Lake management.
Develop training programs and workshops for users on best practices in data management to foster a governance culture within the organization.
Ensure governance alignment with compliance standards (SOX, HIPAA, PCI, CCPA, ISO 27001, CISA, and regional regulations) to mitigate risks, protect data privacy, and ensure regulatory compliance in the U.S. and the Americas.
Promote active business participation in data quality processes to ensure that data governance is not perceived as solely a technical responsibility but as a collaborative effort between technology and business.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Designation of Business Data Stewards:
Identify and propose candidates within business areas to assume the role of Data Stewards.
Clearly define the responsibilities and expectations of this role, focusing on managing and improving data quality from a business perspective.
Raise Awareness and Train Business Teams:
Conduct workshops and training sessions to explain the importance of data quality and its impact on decision-making and business outcomes.
Promote a data-driven culture where business teams share responsibility for data integrity and accuracy.
Establish Collaboration Mechanisms:
Create communication and collaboration channels between technical teams and Business Data Stewards to address data quality issues efficiently.
Implement joint review processes to define quality standards, business rules, and data measurement metrics.
Integrate Business Teams into Continuous Improvement:
Involve Business Data Stewards in identifying data quality issues and proposing solutions.
Encourage continuous feedback to refine and enhance data governance processes based on business needs.
