Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As an Application Engineer, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you’ll play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and maintaining our Marketing application platforms, primarily based on Salesforce technology. Working within an agile framework, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet the dynamic business requirements of our global marketplace. 

You will also contribute to the architecture, design methodology, and technology strategy alongside architects and the development lead. Your balance of strong technical skills, technology acumen, and people skills contributes to consistent, high-quality, and timely solutions for the internal business clients.

This role can be performed remotely in Canada. Business operations much occur in PST. 

Meet Your Future Team:

You will be working on a small and collaborative team that works with many departments across Arc’teryx. We value learning and growth and strive to deliver the best solutions to the teams using Salesforce and other systems.
 
The team is responsible for building and maintaining our Salesforce Marketing Cloud instance. The team is organized into squads that include other developers, Administrators, Quality Analysts, Business Analysts and Product Managers. Salesforce Marketing Cloud developers work closely and collaboratively with many other teams including Infrastructure, Marketing, Analytics, and Operation teams. 

If you were in the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to develop and implement solutions ensuring high-quality, timely delivery
  • Supporting the maintenance and documentation of existing solutions, ensuring they remain robust and scalable
  • Creating custom emails, templates and Cloud pages with HTML and CSS that render properly across different email clients, different devices and dark mode
  • Building configuration changes including (but not limited to): Automation Studio, Journey Builder, integrations, API’s, Email Studio, Audience Builder, and subscriber management
  • Building, utilizing, and configuring any Marketing Cloud customizations for Marketing Cloud Personalization and Data Cloud
  • Performing proactive system maintenance and monitoring including security reviews, release updates, email monitoring, and optimizer
  • Assisting in coaching and mentoring junior developers, fostering their growth and development within the team
  • Engaging in continuous learning and exploration of new technologies to enhance our digital properties and improve efficiency
  • Participating in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency
  • Providing documentation, training, consulting and insights on Salesforce best practices, trends, and upcoming features to Arc’teryx teams

  • Focusing on growing and building scalable solutions on our Marketing environments
  • Collaborating with teams across Arc’teryx on projects that push our guest experience to an omni channel single source of truth record
  • Developing personalized use cases in collaboration with our Data Cloud and MCP teams
  • Maintaining our growing suite of Salesforce and other vendor products which include Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud Personalization, and Marketing Cloud Engagement

  • Are you our next Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer?
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or equivalent role
  • You come from an extensive email development background
  • You have knowledge and experience building responsive HTML emails that follow industry best practices and testing emails using Email on Acid and/or Litmus
  • You have completed the Marketing Cloud Consultant and Marketing Cloud Developer certifications
  • You have experience using AMP script, SQL, SSJS, HTML and CSS
  • You have familiarity with tagging and tracking mechanisms including, UTM’s, Google Analytics, Pixels
  • You have intermediate experience with SQL in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • You have a proactive attitude to platform enhancements
  • You build strong test scripts and thoroughly test your solutions
  • You enjoy debugging and have excellent problem-solving skills
  • You have strong attention to detail and ability to create & follow documentation
  • You have demonstrated success working in an Agile methodology, are familiar with tools like Jira and DevOps practices
  • You may also have: Experience in data cloud or marketing cloud personalization tools and Data Cloud certifications(s)
  • You have excellent communication and influencing skills
  • You have excellent time management skills with the ability to plan and meet deadlines
  • You have a passion for Salesforce technology and continuous improvement
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
