Operation HOPE is currently seeking a POWER BI Developer reporting to the Senior Vice President of HOPE’s Research and Impact Institute (HRII). This position will support the development and maintenance of BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. In this role, you should have a background in data and report creation. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. If you also have a business acumen and problem-solving aptitude, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions and provide holistic reporting to our partners and clients. 

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of and hands‐on experience with Microsoft Power BI with a proven ability to work independently in converting business and functional requirements into complex reports, data visualizations and dashboards. The candidate will also synthesize and analyze quantitative data, ensure accuracy, and work with various departments to successfully deliver data.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES 

  • Analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support Power BI dashboards and reports that meet business and technical requirements
  • Develop, publish, and schedule Power BI reports as per the business requirements
  • Monitor and manage existing reporting solutions, troubleshooting potential issues, deploy updates, and own assigned dashboards
  • Responsible for design methodology and project documentation
  • Data transformation and consolidating data from disparate sources
  • Manipulation of client activity data while connecting that data with other data sources that have different reporting periods
  • Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation
  • Prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
  • Develop custom visuals for Power BI
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting
  • Conduct and support whiteboarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings as needed
  • Proficient in SQL language and database querying 
  • Design and develop data model changes, including the management of staging tables, custom measures, and report versioning
  • Strong experience in writing and QA’ing DAX coding 
  • Strong working knowledge of complex relational data models (incl. dependencies, directional relationships, etc)

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High aspirations for all people to be successful and empowered financially 
  • Bachelor’s level degree in a related field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, etc)
  • Proven track record of optimizing dashboards with focus on usability, performance, flexibility and standardization.
  • Established experience in end-to-end implementation of BI projects for developing a portfolio of scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards.
  • Verifiable expertise in writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Power BI administration and/or SharePoint is a strong advantage
  • Strong working experience (2+ years) with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
  • Expertise in translating complex data into clear, actionable visualizations and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability in prototyping, designing, and analyzing requirements.
  • High degree of good judgement, objectivity, and maturity
