Position Overview:


We are looking for an experienced and strategic Account Manager A&D to lead our sales team, develop and execute account plans with targeted growth goals, and foster strong customer, supplier, and vendor relationships. This role involves driving performance, implementing value-added sales strategies, and making data-driven decisions to ensure success. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, sales expertise, and a passion for delivering excellence to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Results Delivery:

  • Lead the delivery of sales results through direct reports and individual account ownership.

  • Develop individual account plans with targeted growth goals and make strategic recommendations to the General Manager/Sales Director.

  • Identify and implement value-added sales opportunities through supply chain, engineering, supplier, or service excellence strategies.

  • Analyze data and past experiences to guide decisions on strategy and direction, contributing to sales branch goals

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and train sales staff to build a high-performing team.

  • Manage employee performance and development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.

  • Provide resources and support to the team to ensure successful execution of sales plans.

  • Define team operating standards and ensure adherence to essential procedures and policies.

Customer, Supplier & Vendor Relationship Management:

  • Build and enhance relationships with key contacts by delivering superior service and operational excellence.

  • Utilize effective problem-solving techniques to address challenges and meet customer needs.

  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including suppliers, customers, and vendors.

  • Increase management presence at customer accounts to engage decision-makers and strengthen partnerships.

  • Participate in reviews, meetings, and presentations with internal and external stakeholders.

Planning & Execution:

  • Lead the execution of sales plans for team members while managing budgets and planning for individual account growth.

  • Use data analysis to inform decisions and provide recommendations to the team and senior management.

  • Adapt departmental plans to address resource and operational challenges, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

Job Complexity:

  • Manage a team of professional employees and/or supervisors and oversee complex business operations.

  • Accountable for team performance and results, aligning objectives with broader business goals.

  • Exercise limited management authority, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and recommending pay actions.

  • Collaborate with senior management to address challenges and provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR 6 years of experience with an advanced degree, OR equivalent experience.

  • Proven track record in account management.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and inform decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing high-performing sales teams.

  • Knowledge of supply chain, engineering, and operational processes is preferred.
