About This Job

The Technical Writer will support the organization by designing and developing end-to-end process maps, standard operating procedures, desktop procedures, and business policy documents with subject matter experts and business leadership. You will be responsible for creating clear, understandable documentation that translates contract regulations and complex processes into a simplified format for a target audience in print and web-based format. ;Additionally, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating policies, procedures, process maps, workflows, and job aids that improve performance, drive adherence, improve quality, and reduce risk.;

Responsibilities

  • Write, format, edit, and validate various technical documents.
  • Ensure all documentation uses standard templates.
  • Identify and maintain proper version control for all documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct research and interviews to gather information, and ensure accurate and current documentation.
  • Maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices.
  • Create visual aids, such as flowcharts, screenshots, and visual aids to illustrate complex concepts.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve processes and documentation.
  • Test and review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with stakeholders and key department staff to identify documentation needs and priorities.
  • Develop documentation with minimal supervision and rework.
  • Manage documentation review and approval cycles for department and business.
  • Translate side chair observations and workgroup discussions into step-by-step documentation.
  • Influence the delivery and change management of systems through knowledge of existing business processes and the effect of future state systems on processes.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of business processes within the department standards by business decisions, technology changes, and annual audits.;
  • Analyze processes for efficiency and effectiveness; provide solutions for minimizing complexity and waste based on thorough analysis.;
  • Appreciate and understand the end-to-end process to ensure that sub-optimization of the whole does not occur during process improvements in their area.
  • Assist with change management during process improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of the operations training curriculum.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to ACFC policies and procedures.
  • Supports and carries out the Company’s Mission& Values.

Education & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years;of technical writing, user guide/training, and documentation development.
  • Able to write clearly and concisely with excellent grammar and writing skills.
  • Effectively proofread documents to ensure content and formatting accuracy.
  • Experienced in translating complex concepts into well-structured narratives.
  • Experience using content development and management software (Salesforce Knowledge experience is a plus).
  • Advanced/expert level in Microsoft Word.
  • Intermediate/advanced experience with SharePoint Online.
  • Proficient working knowledge of all other MS applications.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to assignments and projects to reach objective conclusions and independent decision-making.;
  • Experience applying Information Mapping concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to learn and navigate document control systems to facilitate document routing and approval.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and provide problem resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Superior attention to detail.
