Job Title: Certification Manager (Pressure Equipment Directive)

Are you an experienced Pressure Equipment Directive professional?
Here at BSI we have a new position for a Certification Manager to join us and manage the development, implementation and future business activities in relation to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED). You'll provide technical expertise on a wide range of pressure equipment to support both inspection and certification activities related to the PED/TPED. You will also undertake assessment activities within BSI’s certification as an EN ISO/IEC 17021-1 Certification Body and undertake inspection activities within the scope of BSI’s certification as an EN ISO 17020 Type A Inspection Body. You'll also need to develop and maintain excellent relationships with current and potential clients including exhibiting at customer events to support business development and marketing.

About You
This is a client-facing role, so you'll need a strong customer service ethos and great communication and influencing skills. You'll need a wide knowledge of pressure related equipment, relevant standards and codes and PED.
You'll need to be able to self manage your own time and workload, prioritise demands, and plan ahead.
Ideally, you will be a Chartered Engineer with at least 5 years experience in a senior technical/management role in a pressure related industry.
You'll need to have in-depth knowledge of design practices, design and manufacturing codes, materials, manufacture (incl. welding), inspection (incl. NDT), pressure testing and certification, commercial and business awareness of pressure equipment manufacture and inspection. and a detailed Technical understanding of the PED, pressure equipment codes/standards and the products, practices and industries affected.
