The Category Manager – Security & Fleet is a strategic procurement professional responsible for managing Security and Fleet, which are key subcategories within the broader Facilities, Real Estate, and Fleet category at Humana. This role will drive cost optimization, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and strategic sourcing initiatives to support enterprise-wide operational objectives.
The Category Manager will work closely with vendor managers, ensuring that sourcing strategies align with contract governance, operational needs, and performance expectations. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, market expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement across Security and Fleet services.

Key Responsibilities
1. Category Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies specifically for Security and Fleet subcategories within the broader Facilities, Real Estate, and Fleet portfolio.
- Lead RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract structuring to drive cost efficiencies and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate closely with vendor managers to maintain supplier accountability, contract compliance, and performance monitoring.
- Conduct market analysis, spend assessment, and risk evaluation to support data-driven decision-making and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Work cross-functionally with Facilities Operations, Security, Fleet Management, Finance, and Procurement to align category strategies with business goals.
2. Security Subcategory Management
- Manage procurement and supplier relationships for Security Guard Services, Security Equipment, Installation & Maintenance, Executive Security Services, Security System Monitoring, and Security Technology.
- Ensure vendor compliance with security protocols, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with vendor managers and security leadership to continuously assess and improve security service effectiveness.
- Optimize security technology sourcing, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response systems.
3. Fleet Subcategory Management
- Oversee procurement for Fleet Management Services, OEM Vehicle Purchasing, Fuel, and Vehicle Telematics.
- Develop strategic sourcing plans to enhance fleet efficiency, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and safety compliance.
- Partner with vendor managers and fleet operations teams to evaluate supplier performance and contract adherence.
- Negotiate with market-leading suppliers to improve vehicle acquisition, maintenance, fuel management, and telematics solutions.
- Implement data-driven insights to optimize fleet utilization, reduce downtime, and enhance tracking capabilities.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
- Act as a strategic business partner for internal stakeholders, including Facilities Management, Security Operations, Fleet Operations, and Procurement.
- Ensure sourcing decisions align with vendor management strategies to enforce compliance, cost controls, and service quality.
- Support budget planning, cost forecasting, and contract governance to drive financial and operational efficiencies.
- Lead supplier performance reviews, ensuring vendor contracts include clear KPIs, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Analytical mindset, with experience in spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and cost modeling.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with vendor managers to ensure seamless supplier performance oversight.
Preferred:
- Experience managing Security or Fleet-related procurement contracts.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and compliance standards in security and fleet management.
- Project leadership experience in executing sourcing initiatives and supplier transitions.
- Master’s degree (MBA, Supply Chain, or related field) is a plus.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$78,400 - $107,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
