About the Team

The Platform (Infrastructure) Team builds and maintains the core foundation that powers all Protex systems. We foster robust edge-to-cloud connectivity, creating scalable data infrastructure and high-performance backend services. Our team ensures strong edge deployments for real-time computer vision applications and delivers dependable systems that enable proactive workplace safety at global scale.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in video processing to join our Platform team. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and optimise high-performance video pipelines that power our AI-driven safety platform. Your responsibilities include developing video encoding workflows, integrating processing frameworks like GStreamer, and ensuring real-time performance across the infrastructure.

What You'll Need

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong knowledge of C++

• Hands-on experience with GStreamer and computer vision applications  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field  

• Experience with video processing frameworks and tools (e.g., GStreamer, FFmpeg)

• Knowledge of encoding and decoding algorithms (e.g., H.264, H.265, MJPEG) and streaming protocols

• Proven ability to optimise video systems for real-time performance and scalability
