Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time remote position open to cover Eastern regions of Kentucky:
Education Outreach Specialist-Eastern Kentucky
Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, and broadcasts into 8 states and 10 media markets, along with providing live and archived streaming services. In addition to offering high-quality PBS programming, KET annually produces hundreds of hours of award-winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding and respected Education Outreach team, to support student achievement and an educated workforce through the creation and delivery of high-quality educational content, resources, and services.
As the Education Outreach Specialist, you will cultivate relationships and partnerships as well as serve as a liaison between KET and schools, districts, universities and other educational agencies providing promotion and support for the utilization of KET resources, services and products. KET’s facilities are located in beautiful “horse country” with a thriving community that offers affordable living, outstanding educational opportunities, and world class sporting events. Our ideal Candidate will:
Support the goal of increasing the utilization of KET Education resources, services and products by providing outreach services through site visits, face-to-face or virtual trainings, district/regional meetings, state conferences and specific KET programs.
Develop, promote, deliver and evaluate the impact and utilization of workshops and professional development in effective use of KET’s broad range of educational resources and services. Collaborate interdepartmentally on the planning, production, distribution, and promotion of education projects and resources.
Engage and collaborate with university partners to manage special projects, services and events impacting preservice educators.
Develop and foster partnerships and promote KET resources, products and services through special projects and events. These projects or events may be statewide or regional and duties may include oversite of budgets, evaluations and promotion (i.e. Young Writers Contest, STLP, Digital Learning Coaches, school librarian meetings, Summer PD).
Support the KET All-Stars program as needed.
Serve as a KET Education representative as directed.
The focus on this workload would occur across Eastern Kentucky, though statewide coverage would be required as needed.
Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure up-to-date knowledge of instructional best practices, education technology, standards and Kentucky education issues.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in teaching, curriculum design, instructional media, or a related field, plus a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in K-12 environments or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
Skilled in presenting dynamic workshops for parents, families, students, teachers, and other education audiences.
Knowledge of childhood development, intergenerational learning, and community outreach. Experience with instructional media preferred.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Must be able to occasionally move/lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Travel is required.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license to drive KET Vehicles.
