Job description

Product Architect

Xray, a market-leading test management solution for Jira users, offers an intuitive and comprehensive test management experience that users can customize to meet their specific QA needs. Xporter is an application that enables teams to easily report and export information from Jira into various formats for convenient information sharing.

About the role

As the Product Architect for Xray and Xporter, you provide development manager caliber technical leadership and architectural direction for multiple and diverse software development teams. You are a key member of the core team tasked with determining the technologies, environments, and other components used during the software development process to achieve defined business goals.
The Product Architect owns all technical matters related to his/her assigned products. This ownership includes: orchestrating high-quality, fast-cycle software implementations; maintaining, guiding and improving the architectural integrity and evolution of the products; and ensuring best practices and architectural guidelines are followed for the products.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of both the product code base through hands-on experimentation and exploration
  • Assess and shepherd the technical delivery of products to ensure adherence with best practices
  • Drive continual improvement of development processes
  • Collaborate with the Product Management Team and other stakeholders, contributing to the product roadmap, product requirements, and product release schedule
  • Identify gaps in the technical aspects of the end user experience
  • Estimate software development requirements and effort, propose alternatives, and prioritize development tasks for a given area
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience building successful production software systems
  • Experience with Xray and Xporter products is highly desirable
  • Deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping high-quality software on time
  • Ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring products to life
  • Mastery of the tools of the trade, including a variety of programming languages and key technologies (e.g., MongoDB, React, Node.js)
  • Experience with AWS and EKS (Kubernetes) is highly valued
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized in a manner to achieve effective communication and drive successful results from self and team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical issues to non-technical English-speaking individuals
  • Desire to be challenged and achieve results in a successful technical and business environment
